John Harman Sterne

John Harman Sterne passed away on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 at Cape Cod Hospital at the age of 82.
John was born in Philadelphia and lived in many places, residing for the longest times in the Boston area, Washington D.C. area and Brewster to where he retired some 20 years ago.
  He was a proud Veteran, having served in the Navy as a supply officer on the USS Caloosahatchee.
  John graduated from the Kent School and Yale University.
   After his time in the Navy, he spent the rest of his professional career in the Aviation Industry.
   He was a lifelong sailor and enjoyed taking his beloved Beetle Cat, “Magicat” out on Cape Cod Bay off the beaches in Brewster, and then in the last few years, out to Pleasant Bay from Arey’s Pond.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gail Binney Sterne, two sons from his first marriage to Sandra Sterne, a step-daughter and step-son, four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
John was an active member of The Church of the Holy Spirit, Monument Road, Orleans, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on October 26th, at 11:00am.
