A ‘Jaws’ome Fourth In Orleans
ORLEANS – Beneath sunshine and a cloudless blue sky, residents and visitors came out in full force for this year’s Fourth of July parade.
The sides of Route 6A, Main Street and Route 28 were packed with people sporting red, white and blue. Others leaned heavily into this year’s parade theme, “We’re Going To Need A Bigger Float,” a nod to the 50th anniversary of the classic summer blockbuster “Jaws.”
The parade, which included everything from floats and bands to public safety vehicles, boats, classic cars, tractors and horses, kicked off from Eldredge Park Wayl before making its way onto Route 6A. The parade continued down Main Street and onto Route 28 before ending at Nauset Regional Middle School.
Brendan Guttman, the town’s former recreation director, served as this year’s parade grand marshal.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
