CHATHAM – More than 350 people have already registered for the 20th installment of the Turkey Trot 5K, the Lower Cape Outreach Council has announced.
The 5-kilometer run and walk is set for an 8 a.m. start Thanksgiving morning at the Oyster Pond parking lot and will raise money for the LCOC. The race routinely draws approximately 2,500 participants while attracting hundreds of spectators that line the downtown Chatham streets to root on competitors.
Proceeds from the event will fund stock for the nine emergency food pantries that are housed in Lower and Outer Cape towns as well as a financial assistance program and Katy’s Corner, a free clothing and home goods center in Orleans.
Registration is $35 through Nov. 3 then $45 beginning Nov. 4. Those who register by Oct. 25 will receive a free race T-shirt.
