Vehicle Crashes Through Wall At Staples
ORLEANS – No injuries were reported from a crash late Saturday morning in which a motorist drove through a brick wall at Staples off Route 6A.
The crash took place at approximately 11:40 a.m. Orleans Fire Chief Geof Deering said that the lone male occupant was helped out of the vehicle by fire personnel and evaluated on scene, but declined transport to Cape Cod Hospital.
Deering said staff were working in the store at the time of the crash, but there were no injuries.
The vehicle was almost completely inside the store, and Deering said extra caution was taken in removing it from the premises.
“We’re working with the property owner and our building commissioner to stabilize the building to ensure that it’s safe,” Deering said. “From there, it’ll be secured and repaired at a later date.”
Fire crews from departments across the Cape were on scene assisting in the response Saturday morning. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
