David C. Eldredge
November 13, 2024
Dave was born on January 31, 1954, the son of Luther (deceased) and Virginia Eldredge. He grew up in North Eastham with his siblings, Robert (Georgette), William (deceased), Loreen, and Kathleen (deceased). Proud of his Cape Cod roots, Dave’s ancestry on the Cape dates back to the mid-1600s, including his great-grandfather, the notorious “Wicked” Walter Eldredge of Chatham. He graduated from Nauset Regional High School and made Cape Cod his lifelong home.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Dave passed peacefully at home, surrounded by love, right around his regular Sunday morning tee time. A talented carpenter, Dave left his mark on the Lower Cape through his craftsmanship and dedication.
Dave’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He shared a life of love and laughter with his wife, Sheree (Gage), and together built a beautiful life with their four children: Rebecca (Paul), Matthew (Kristi), Katelyn (Matthew), and Kelsey (Chase); including their nine grandchildren—Ashlyn, Paul, Georgia, Nevaeh, Jacob, Sophie, Ethan, Isabel, and Max—who he cherished deeply.
Second to his family, being a dedicated New England fan, was his love of sports, especially golf. Dave loved the game and was always eager to play with anyone in any weather at any time. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of golf with his grandchildren, teaching and playing with them and their friends. Dave also coached his children and their friends, utilizing his athletic knowledge and skills and always ended games with an ice cream treat.
Dave’s kind heart and steady support extended to his fellowship as a faithful Friend of Bill W., where he was always willing to lend an ear and offer encouraging words.
Dave will be remembered for his sense of humor, hard work, honesty, and boundless love. Whether on the golf course, cheering on his grandkids, or spending time with family, he was happiest when surrounded by loved ones. His legacy will live on in the countless hearts and lives he touched.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held in June 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Dave’s memory to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation/Oncology Department, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601, or online at givetocchc.org.
