November 06, 2024
John R. “Jack” Perry, Jr. of Norwood and Chatham, passed away on November 2, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Born and raised in Norwood, Jack was a 1962 graduate of Norwood Senior High School. Following high school, John attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and then Boston Architectural College, earning his Master’s Degree. He owned and operated John R. Perry Architects in Norwood for over 40 years until his retirement.
Jack had a great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and pulling the occasional prank.
In his spare time, Jack loved to travel to any destination with palm trees. He loved the beach and visited many all over the world, including Asia and South America and especially the Caribbean. Above all else, his favorite beaches were found in Chatham, where he has vacationed/lived part time for over 50 years. Sitting on the beach, laying in the sand, and swimming with his granddaughters is how he spent his time by the ocean, often enjoying music by the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffett.
Jack was the dear and devoted husband of Susan (Moir) Perry. Loving father of Jared Perry and his wife Jennifer of Wellesley. Cherished grandfather, “Papa,” of Claire and Elise. Dear brother of Carol Quinn of Norwood and the late Jean Martin. He is also survived by several loving nephews and a loving niece.
Jack’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church at 11 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9-10:30 at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to The Norwood Circle of Hope Foundation PO Box 421 Norwood, MA 02062 or to the Chatham Food Pantry 625 Main St. Chatham, MA 02633.
Jack will be laid to rest at a private interment in Chatham.
