CBI Announces Nine Greenhouse Dinners This Fall

by Amy F Tagliaferri

Chatham Bars Inn knows how to throw a party, even in a greenhouse. The farm-to-table dinners held all summer are now moving into the massive greenhouse on the farm property, home to upside-down tomato plants and more in the summer.
At the  ”Flavors of California” dinner on Sept. 20, each of the five courses was paired with a California wine, the hors d'oeuvres included a Vermouth spritzer, and the event concluded with a chilled red blend from Sonoma County paired with the poached pears, mascarpone cream and a brown butter streusel dessert. Each course is served family style so you get to know everyone at your table. The dinner included crab, linguine, and chili butter sauce.
The dinners are held every Friday through Nov. 15. This Friday’s dinner is “Flavors of Oktoberfest” followed by “Flavors of Central America” on Oct. 4. Check the inn’s website for the other dinners and to reserve. They cover the flavors of France, Italy, Spain, the Pacific Northwest and end with “New England Harvest.”
