Chatham Leaves Larry's PX Servers a Huge Tip
Last Wednesday’s benefit at Knots Landing greatly boosted the staff of Larry’s P.X.
In late November, an SUV drove through the front entrance of the popular West Chatham diner, forcing it to close for months. An April reopening is predicted, said Jay Case, who owns Larry’s with his wife Sue Case. In the meantime, over a dozen Larry’s staffers are out of work.
Kellie Trombi of Knots Landing who worked at Larry’s at one time, saw an opportunity to help out the employees financially with a fundraiser. She and her committee, dubbed “Larry’s Angels” (Ginny Nickerson, Nina Gagarin, Vangie Collins, Richard Johnston, Christine Dubis, Peter Christakis, Nikolas Christakis, Adrianna Saglibene, Justine McNevin, Sophia Malita, and Heather Miller), gathered the donations for the live and silent auction, found guest bartenders Jamie Edwards and John “Mongo” Fraser, and an auction team (Matt Pitta and State Rep. Steve Xiarhos). Nearly $60,000 was raised as of press time, with more donations expected. Donations are still accepted through the Pals For Life Foundation. More info at palsforlife.com
