Eileen A. Fitzgerald

Townsend – Eileen A. (Moffitt) Fitzgerald, 76, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 in Emerson Hospital after a brief illness.

Eileen was born in Albany, NY on August 13, 1947 the daughter of Eugene and Agnes Moffitt, and lovingly raised by Edward and Nellie Crowley. She was a 1965 graduate of Shaker High School in Loudonville, NY, and in 1983 went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Goddard College in Montpelier, VT, while raising her family. Eileen furthered her education at Lesley College in Cambridge, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Business Management in 1986.

She worked for several years for ERT in Concord and later for EMC in Amesbury, before joining CAD Services in Townsend. Eileen had also worked for several printed circuit board design companies, before retiring from Applied CAD Knowledge in Tyngsboro as a Sales Executive.

Family was the most important aspect of Eileen’s life; she treasured the time she was able to spend with them, especially her grandchildren. She always loved attending their events, whether sports, dance, swimming or skating, she was there. Eileen, along with her husband Rich, enjoyed their home in Chatham and visiting the beach. Eileen was a true animal lover and adopted many dogs throughout the years.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Rich Swatton of Townsend; son Christopher Fitzgerald and wife Ruthanne of Hollis, NH, and their children, Ryan, Jack, and Maggie; son Gregory Fitzgerald of Wilmington; Rich’s children, Richard Swatton, Jr. of RI, Lori Ann Swatton of Winthrop, Jeanine Ju and husband Keith of CA; grandchildren, Michael and Alaina Psomas; great grandson, Damon Psomas; a sister Maryanne Cook of Voorheesville, NY; several nieces and nephews, and her grand-dog, Charlie.

Eileen was predeceased by her sister Shirley Wells of Troy, NY.
