Toast Of Harwich Goes To Wychmere Beach Club
HARWICH – There will be a change of venue for the 26th annual Toast of Harwich next month.
This year’s event will return to the Wychmere Harbor Room at the Wychmere Beach Club. The annual event, which celebrates the culinary creativity of local restaurants, has for many years been held at the Wequassett Resort. It will be held this year in the Wychmere Harbor Room on Friday, Nov. 20, where it was held in its first few years.
As the Toast continues to grow, the event at the Wequassett Resort got split into two separate rooms, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cyndi Williams said.
“The move to Wychmere gives us the opportunity to be in one room altogether,” William said. “It will be a new vibe while keeping the same ingredients with the restaurants and the beverages, and we’ll be adding a few new ingredients to spice it up.”
There are a few new restaurants added this year, and the Boston Premier Band will perform, said Williams. The live auction will be led by auctioneer John Terrio, and all the activities will take place in the large room that once housed Thompson’s Clam Bar.
The Toast is “an investment in our community and an investment in the future of Harwich,” said Williams. “Your support helps us be there for the small businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, restaurants, retailers, accommodations, professionals, service providers, and organizations that make up the fabric of our community.”
The participating restaurants are 400 East Bar and Restaurant, Brenda’s Cakes for All Occasions, Buca’s Tuscan Roadhouse, Cape Sea Grille, Dairy Queen, Dive Dine and Drink, Grand Cove Shellfish, Lanyard Bar and Grill, Mooncussers, RDA Catering, Red River Barbeque, Regalcare, Sundae School, Sweet Izzy’s, The Grateful Mug Cafe, Three Harbors Coastal Kitchen, TK’s Sports Bar, Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay and Wychmere Harbor Room.
Libations will be provided by Cape Cod Beer, Hog Island Beer, Plymouth Brewing Company and Devil’s Purse. Wines will be provided by Josh Cellars and My Cousins’ Wine. Mocktails will be served by Fizzy Potion.
The live auction will feature four travel experiences, including a trip to Paris for a Taste of Paris event, a Taste of Tuscany, a wine trip to California and a trip to Kentucky for the Kentucky Derby.
The Toast of Harwich will begin on Friday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 7 p.m. for others. VIP tickets are $120 and general admission is $90. Tickets and additional information are available through cyndi@harwichcc.com, www.harwichcc.com or by calling 508-430-1165.
