Scientists say we are all made of stardust, if this be the case, then our super star, Kelly Twomey, son of William and Jane (Gaynor) Twomey, born on Jan. 1, 1957, began his journey back to the universe, on Sept. 10 where that twinkle in his eye will still shine down upon us all.
   He is survived by his piano teacher and beloved wife, Marcia, his fabulous daughters, Loretta and Kayla, and his cherished and adored granddaughter, Moria May, who added many more years to her “Ampas” life. His star will also shine upon his mother Jane, tight band of brothers Kerry, Kenan, Kean, sister Valerie, and a large extended family.
   Kelly was a wild Irish seanchaí full of blarney, charm and mischief, a party waiting to happen. He had the gift of enjoying life in all its absurdities, finding humor and compassion were the key to happiness.
With his many passions he crammed several lifetimes into his 69 years, on this good earth. He was a song writer, storyteller, a sailor whose logbook told an epic story, a gifted athlete, an artist with the tools of his trade, many of us carry our hand-crafted walking sticks chosen especially for us on his daily walks as he communicated with nature, his other mother.
We will gather to celebrate and honor Kelly’s life on October 3, 2026 11am at the Island Pond Cemetery 13 Island Pond Rd Harwich, MA followed by a gathering at the First Congregational Church, Parish House 697 Main St. Harwich, MA
We are all thankful to Marcia, Loretta, Kayla and Broad Reach Hospice for their “labor of love” that allowed Kelly to remain in his home with the people he loved.
