Hundreds Race In 45th Chatham Harbor Run
CHATHAM – More than 300 runners cut through Sunday morning fog last weekend during the 45th Chatham Harbor Run, an annual 10-kilometer loop through town.
Daniel Noone, 35, of New York finished first among the field with a time of 37:07. Tim Piergalski, 42, and Taylor Burmeister, 39, both of Alexandria, Va., rounded out the top three with times of 37:24 and 37:28.
Maddie Mullin, 27, of Wellesley Hills finished first among female runners with a time of 41:04, followed by Hannah Garside, 29, of South Chatham (45:36) and Cathryn Williams, 39, of Grafton (45:47). The run also had a team relay option.
The race, organized by the Cape Cod Athletic Club, raised money for Monomoy Dollars for Scholars and the club’s scholarships. The route began and ended at Monomoy Regional Middle School, circling past Oyster Pond Beach, Stage Harbor, Chatham Lighthouse and the fish pier.
The run saw 294 total individual finishers plus 11 relay teams. Ages ranged from 6 to 83.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
