Carolyn Howells Scott

Carolyn Howells Scott of South Chatham Massachusetts died on November 13, 2025, at the age of 92. 
Carol was born on February 20, 1933 in Mt Kisco New York, to Frederic & Gertrude Howells.
She met H. Donald Scott on the Cape while both were working as camp counselors during their college years. They were married for 62 years until his death in 2017.
  Carol is survived by her children, Cynthia Lieblich (Dan), Adam Scott (Brenda), Meredith Scott;  grandchildren, Brandon Lieblich, Alison Lieblich (Kory), Emma Hallett (Ben) & Olivia Scott. Carol is also survived by her loving niece, nephews, relatives and dear friends. 
Carol lived large and long. Nature, her garden, travel, birding, golf, playing bridge,  and many years spent on North Beach brought her great joy. 
She will be remembered for her steadfast optimism, good humor, and appreciation of the natural world. She was someone’s daughter, someone’s wife, someone’s mother, someone’s Doodah, someone’s friend and in every way her own woman; the kind we do not celebrate nearly enough. 
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 15th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd, Chatham, MA 02633.
In Carol’s memory, donations may be made to the Chatham Fire Department or Harwich Conservation Trust.
