Joan Caryn Lindegren

Joan Lindegren (nickname “Bo”) of Chatham was born on May 27, 1958 in Worcester, MA daughter of C. John Lindegren and Cecelia (Janeczek) Lindegren.  She grew up in Shrewsbury, MA in a family of 5 children and leaves behind her twin sister Jane Englert of Chatham, sister Debra Lindegren and husband Bill Lae of Harwich, sister Cindy Ecker and husband Fred Ecker of Yarmouth Port, brother Carl Lindegren of Berlin, MA and many nieces and nephews.  She was affectionately known as the “fun Auntie.”  Joan was a 3-sport athlete at Shrewsbury High School playing field hockey, basketball and tennis.  The family spent Summers in Chatham and Joan sailed and raced at Stage Harbor Yacht Club and loved sailing and boating throughout her life.  She was also an avid skier, skiing for many years at Mount Snow in Dover, VT.
Joan graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with a Bachelor of Arts degree and went on to have a fulfilling 30 year career as an Executive Recruiter where she worked primarily at Winter Wyman Inc. in Boston.  She was President of a division of Winter Wyman Inc. overseeing a team of recruiters placing human resources professionals with various companies.  With her affable personality and dedicated work ethic, she was a natural in the field of sales and helping people in their job search.
She was passionate about animals and had 2 dogs (yellow labs) named Lexie and Ollie who she adored and could often be seen with her on her boat on Stage Harbor.  She also loved to knit and donated many of her hand knit scarves to homeless shelters every winter.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life this Summer.
