Mary Ropulewis Schultz
April 22, 2026
Mary (Maggie) Ropulewis Schultz, 64, of Chatham, MA, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at Cape Cod Hospital. Born on November 13, 1961, in Gardner, MA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph and Mary Ropulewis. Maggie graduated from Chatham High School in 1979 and spent the majority of her life on Cape Cod, where she remained close to her brother, cherished lifelong friendships, and raised her two children.
Maggie had a heart of gold and a truly compassionate spirit. She was known for her kindness, her ability to listen without judgment, and her unwavering willingness to help others. Much of her life and career was dedicated to caring for those around her, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met including her fur babies.
She is survived by her loving family: her brother, Edward Ropulewis and his life partner, Deb Sawka; her niece Tess Ropulewis; her son Jason Schultz; her daughter, Alyssa Salatino and her husband, Chris Salatino. Mary found her greatest joy in being a grandmother. She deeply loved her grandchildren Christopher and Mila and cherished every moment spent with them, embracing that role with pride, warmth, and devotion. She also leaves behind many dear friends, in particular her soul sister Judith Harned. All who will deeply miss her warmth, laughter, and the light she brought into their lives.
There will be a casual gathering May 1st at 2:15pm at Hardings beach followed by a celebration of life at the back bar at Chatham Squire at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Elder Services of Cape Cod.
Susan Deborah Abreu Farnham
Susan Deborah Abreu Farnham passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born on August 5, 1958, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Susan was a lifelong resident of Cape Cod—a place she loved deeply and always called home.
The daughter of Katherine and Manuel Abreu, Susan grew up in Chatham alongside her siblings Rick, Betsy, Sally, and Peter. Their childhood home was nestled on the grounds of a lush flower garden bordering White Pond, an idyllic setting that inspired her lifelong appreciation for nature. That same land is now known as Sylvan Gardens, a city park open for all to enjoy, celebrated for its vibrant daffodils originally planted by Susan’s grandfather, Rolf Sylvan.
In 1977, Susan married G. Mark Farnham, her devoted husband and lifelong partner. Together, they raised four children and built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and love. Susan was well known in the community for her industrious spirit—cleaning scallops, mending gill nets, and digging clams—while Mark, a longtime commercial fisherman, captained his boat, Honi-do.
Beyond her work, Susan found joy in simple and beautiful things: her gardens, her faith, the music she made, and the Cape Cod shore where she loved to feel the sand beneath her feet. A gifted musician, she often played her Martin guitar at gatherings and events throughout the Cape, sharing her love of song with others.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband, Mark; her children Noah Farnham and his wife Danette, Hannah Farnham and her husband Andrew Miller, and Micah Farnham; and seven cherished grandchildren—Joshua, Grace, Isaac, Faith, Charlotte, Sylvia, and Daphne. Her family will forever be grateful for her unfailing love, her faith, and her many sacrifices made out of devotion to those she loved most.
A private family memorial service was held to celebrate Susan’s life under the care of Nickerson Funeral Home.
