BOURNE – Dennis-Yarmouth/Cape Cod Tech/Cape Cod Academy boys hockey sophomore Colin Endres scored 19 seconds into the Dolphins’ game last Saturday against Upper Cape Tech, and it was all they needed en route to a 5-0 win.
For good measure though, Endres added another goal not even five minutes later.

Endres, one of the team’s four co-captains, has “been consistent all year,” head coach Lewis Alberti said.

“He's a two-way player,” Alberti said. “He's always in it. He's always mucking it up. Obviously, tonight you can see, when he's on and hitting the net with his shot, it's a quality shot, probably one of the best in the league in my opinion. But day in and day out, he’s just a good kid who works hard.”

As the Dolphins’ points leader this season, Endres is powering a group whose 5-11 record — and No. 28 ranking in Division 4 as of Tuesday — has them squarely in position to advance to the state tournament.

On Saturday, Endres ripped his first score quickly from the circle upon getting the puck following a faceoff in Upper Cape Tech’s defensive zone. Soon after, he took a penalty for tripping. Two minutes later, Endres hopped back onto the ice and seemingly instantly found the back of the net again. The Dolphins didn’t look back.

“He's still young,” Alberti said. “He's only a sophomore, so he's just learning his game and learning the ins and outs of the grind of a high school hockey season.”
