There are few resorts on the Cape more timeless and iconic than the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich. From the impeccable landscape overlooking Pleasant Bay, the luxurious accommodations and some of the best, award-winning dining experiences on Cape Cod, the Wequassett is unmatched in coastal luxury.
The Wequassett is a landmark destination where people experience unforgettable getaways, special evenings out, weddings, anniversary celebrations and everything in between. From the top-notch service to the manicured grounds, the Wequassett is a celebrated destination. Whether you’re a guest staying for a vacation or someone simply visiting for lunch or dinner, time seems to stand still at the Wequassett.
The resort is bustling with activity year-round and gives back immensely to the community, which is what part of this Minding Your Business column will cover this week.
At this year’s annual tree lighting ceremony, members of Wequassett’s staff presented checks to the recipients of the resort’s Community Impact Fund. Kara LaChance, Gary Thulander, Amy Farrell, Jamie McPhee, Nancy Covell and Kimberly Millman were among the Wequassett staff members who had the honor of presenting checks to this year’s award recipients. More than $250,000 in donations were awarded to these local organizations: Cape Kid Meals, The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, Sharing Kindness, Homeless Prevention Council, Pleasant Bay Community Boating, the Cape Symphony and Heroes in Transition. This is the start of a new tradition at Wequassett and one that will benefit many local organizations.
The resort also provided funding to their Jamaican staff members and their families and communities (members of the Wequassett’s team were on the ground this month distributing much-needed food, water, clothing and personal items in the aftermath of devastating storms).
Gary Thulander, the resort’s area managing director, was thrilled to kick off the holiday season with this massive night of giving.
“The first annual ‘Wequassett Giving Tree’ was especially meaningful for all of us at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club,” he said. “Thanks to our ownership, EOS Hospitality, for developing the Community Outreach Program. Combined with the recent Jamaica Strong fundraiser, we are honored to donate over $250,000 to local non-profit organizations and to our employees and their families in Jamaica. The Cape community continues to inspire us, and we’re so grateful to be part of this wonderful destination and have the opportunity to give back in such a meaningful way.”
On the heels of the very busy, popular and super festive Gingerbread House Party nights, Merry Market and fireworks evening this month, the Wequassett continues to offer elevated experiences to guests and to the public during the holiday season with countless ways to celebrate in style. The resort has been in partnership this winter with the Cape Symphony for unique dining experiences at their signature twenty-eight Atlantic restaurant. On Friday and Saturday nights, twenty-eight Atlantic comes alive with performances by “Cape Symphony Presents” with some of the most captivating jazz artists around. Be sure to check out the schedule and reserve your spot online.
A very special and memorable Christmas dinner will be served at twenty-eight Atlantic on Dec. 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. Reservations can be made online.
The Wequassett is also excited to ring in 2026 with its celebratory New Year’s Eve Gala. New Year’s Eve at Wequassett shimmers with celebration. Tickets are available now to enjoy a four-course prix-fixe menu from Executive Chef James Hackney, entertainment from Ray Greene and The Allnighters and a full dessert bar and champagne toast when the clock strikes midnight (options include overnight experiences, party only tickets, and brunch tickets; see the website for more details).
To round out 2025, twenty-eight Atlantic is serving lunch and dinner Thursdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner Wednesdays to Saturdays from 5 to 9 p.m. for the rest of the month. The resort and restaurants will close Jan. 1 and re-open on Feb. 13. Be sure to check out the Wequassett’s website for all of the spring and summer happenings to come.
