Frances ‘Eve’ Dalmolen

Frances “Eve” Dalmolen, 82, of Chatham, passed away peacefully in her home on December 6, 2023. She was born March 22, 1941 to Langdon and Evelyn (Douglass) Hooper in Newton, MA.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert “Ab” Dalmolen. Eve is survived by her two sons, Hans and Pieter and Grandchildren, Samantha, Van and Noah.
Eve graduated from Abbot Academy (Phillips Andover) and Northwestern University before receiving her PhD at American University in Washington DC. She spent her career in academia as a faculty member at a small liberal arts college in Upstate New York before retiring to the same Cape Cod community where she and her family had enjoyed every previous summer together.
Eve was a lifetime activist and a vocal advocate for civil and women’s rights. She loved working on local and national political campaigns, taking part in her political discussion group and was a former Chair of the Chatham Democratic Committee. Eve was a long-time volunteer and supporter of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center, Godfrey Windmill, Cape Cod Opera, League of Women Voters and Pleasant Bay Community Boating. She treasured time with friends she’d made over many years as part of the Nauset Newcomers. Eve will be remembered by friends and family for her love of politics, her strong sense of social justice and her unwavering adoration of Ab, her two boys and three grandchildren.
