Man Arrested Following Low-Speed Pursuit

ORLEANS – A New Hampshire man was arrested early Monday morning after leading police on a pursuit that began in Wellfleet.
The man, 55, was stopped on Route 6A near the Exit 89 onramp, Orleans police said in a press release. The suspect has not been identified by name.
According to the release, police were called at 6:41 a.m. Monday to assist Eastham police in a “low-speed pursuit” heading toward Orleans. Police say it is believed the suspect was having a “mental health emergency.”
Tire deflation devices were placed on Rock Harbor Road near the Bridge Street intersection to assist in stopping the vehicle, which police said reached a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour before being stopped. 
Police said the suspect was arrested without incident before being transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. He faces “numerous motor vehicle charges,” according to the release.
