Betty Kendrick Peterson

Betty Kendrick Peterson, 86, most recently of  Covington TX, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Fort Worth, TX.
Betty was born on August 14, 1938, in Hyannis MA, the daughter of the late Elmer Earle Kendrick and Norma (Moore) Kendrick. She graduated Chatham High School, Chatham MA in 1956, where she played basketball.  She married Robert Scott Peterson on June 25, 1966, while residing in Chatham, and they later resided in New Hampshire and New York before settling in Mechanicsburg, PA to raise their family. 
   While raising their daughters, Betty also worked at RT Dunn Insurance in Mechanicsburg from 1988 to 2016 before retiring to Texas to live with her eldest daughter. She enjoyed hobbies of crafting, needlepoint, reading, viewing game shows and collecting recipes. 
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, sisters-in-law Joan Kendrick, Ann Carry, and Nancy Peterson, and brother-in-law Walter Peterson.
She is survived by her brothers, Earle “Skip” Kendrick of Chatham, MA and William Kendrick (and wife Sharon) of Crofton, MD. Also surviving are her daughters Kristin (Dale) Smith of Covington, TX and Jennifer (Noah) Gustkey of Media, PA, three grandchildren: Kenneth (Cheska) Garner of Marble Falls, TX, Ivan and Iris Gustkey of Media, PA, and a great-grandson, Jettson Garner, along with many nieces and nephews.
A service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 27, 2025, at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg.  Interment will immediately follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
