Athlete Of The Week: Braden Decker
NORTH EASTHAM – Braden Decker did his part to help the Nauset boys basketball team snap its losing skid.
The junior guard finished with a team-high 13 points to help the Warriors pull away from Nantucket for a 62-49 victory on Friday afternoon in North Eastham.
Decker was at his best from behind the arc, finishing with three of the team’s seven 3-pointers in the win. The junior made a pair of triples during the third quarter, finishing with eight points in the frame.
His third-quarter burst helped Nauset extend its 24-17 halftime lead to a 43-29 advantage by the end of the frame.
Decker and Nauset will look to win their second in a row when they host Barnstable at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, after The Chronicle’s deadline.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
