With the stakes increased and a trophy on the line, Nauset junior Jake Eldredge showcased his scoring touch.

The Brewster resident was named the Island Creek Oyster Cup Most Valuable Player after finishing the tournament with a pair of goals.

Eldredge scored Thursday to help lift Nauset to a 5-4 victory over Scituate in the tournament championship after also lighting the lamp during the team’s 2-0 semifinals win over Weymouth on Monday.

Eldredge and Nauset (4-0) will look to stay unbeaten in a nonleague test at Milton on Jan. 1.
