Aaron Thomas Barker
December 26, 2024
Aaron Thomas Barker (53) of Katy, TX died unexpectedly on October 26, 2024. The husband of Jennifer (Schultz) Barker, his wife of 27 years, Aaron was a Market Vice President of Outback Steakhouse, who loved hunting, golf and being in the out of doors second only to his family. He leaves three sons, Garrett (25), Andrew (22) and Kyle (20) of Katy, Texas, his mother, Jean Barker of Harwich, Massachusetts, brother Ian Barker, sister in-law Jessica and his nephew Tommy Barker all of Richmond, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Barker of Harwich, MA. Aaron also leaves numerous Barker and LaCroix aunts, uncles and cousins.
Aaron, the son of Tom and Jean Barker grew up on Cape Cod where his love of the outdoor life of playing sports developed. He was a graduate of Harwich High School, class of 1989, where he played soccer, hockey, and baseball and Saint Andrews University, Class of 1993, where he played soccer. A chance interview commenced a 31-year career in the food and beverage industry. For the past 10 years, Aaron has served as a regional manager for Outback Steakhouse in Texas and enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and colleagues within the Bloomin’ Brands family.
Aaron and Jennifer married on October 25th of 1997, and later welcomed their first child Garrett, in 1999. The family grew to five with the births of Andrew and Kyle. Being a father came naturally to Aaron supporting his sons in many ways such as roller hockey, FFA, and baseball. He loved to spend his free time amongst friends at the deer lease hunting white tail deer. As an avid sports fan he loved to watch all sports, especially the Red Sox and Cowboys with friends and family.
Aaron had a big heart and was loved for his generosity and warm personality by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. He truly cared about people and was apt to check in on friends and family with dinner in hand and was the first to volunteer in a natural disaster.
His coworkers, friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Aaron’s life at Lindsay Lakes 16536 Mueschke Road, Cypress, Texas on November 7th from 3-6 pm (memorial service at 3pm with reception following). Please, use the second entrance and park behind the Chapel.
