Christmas Spirit Flows In Harwich

HARWICH – The cold temperatures and high winds did not deter people from coming out to the Harwich Port Stroll last   Friday night.
The tree lighting ceremony, where caroling was led by the Harwich Elementary School chorus, drew a crowd. John and Jeannie Wheeler were honored for starting the tree lighting tradition 20 years ago. Santa had a long line of families with the youngsters excited to relate the requests they hope will be located beneath the tree on Christmas morning.
The Holiday Market at 204 Sisson was jammed on Saturday, and while temperatures remained on the cold side, conditions did not dissuade a large turnout for the Christmas in Harwich fireworks over Pleasant Bay that evening.
“It was a great weekend in Harwich,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cyndi Williams.
