NORTH CHATHAM – Firefighters from Chatham, Harwich, Brewster, Dennis and Orleans battled a fast-moving fire in a single-story home on Highpoint Drive Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze broke out shortly after 4 p.m. at 82 High Point Dr., and arriving firefighters saw flames coming through the roof. The bulk of the fire was knocked down by 4:45 p.m.

Fire Chief Justin Tavano said later that no one was home at the time and there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical, he said.

According to town records, the 2,500-square-foot single-family home is owned by Bruce and Kathleen Everett.
