One Person Injured In Crash Involving RTA Bus

ORLEANS – A crash involving a Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus led one person to be transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Orleans Fire Chief Geof Deering said fire officials responded to the area of 157 Route 6A for a report of the crash at approximately 11:40 a.m. He said the accident involved a collision between the bus and an SUV.

A total of 11 people were evaluated following the crash, Deering said, including eight who were riding the bus. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

Crews cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m. Two ambulances from Brewster assisted in responding to the crash, Deering said, adding that the cause of the crash remains under investigation by Orleans police.
