Athlete Of The Week: Kevin Zarnoch

HARWICH – It’s been a little more than a week since the Harwich Mariners ended a 13-year title drought and captured their first Cape Cod Baseball League championship since 2011, but the thrill of capturing the Cape League crown still lives on.

The team’s championship run wouldn’t have been possible without closer Kevin Zarnoch, a right-handed pitcher from Dorchester who pitches at UMass Lowell.

The righty was lights-out throughout the title run, pitching eight scoreless innings and earning two crucial saves to help the team close out its championship. Zarnoch finished with 13 strikeouts and just walked two batters en route to becoming an integral part of Harwich’s magical team.
