BREWSTER – Nick Dumesnil is on a roll.

The 6-foot-2 outfielder from California Baptist University has been one of the Brewster Whitecaps’ biggest bright spots this summer, posting a .318 batting average with three home runs, 10 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

The Huntington Beach, Calif., native had an especially strong week for the Whitecaps, hitting a team-best .409 the past seven days after collecting a team-high nine hits during that span.

Dumesnil is not only a threat to opposing pitchers when he’s in the batter’s box, he’s also a danger once he reaches base. His 18 stolen bases leads the Cape League, followed by Bourne outfielder Ethan Conrad’s 15.

Brewster has climbed to third place in the East Division after posting a 6-3 record in its last nine games. If the Whitecaps are able to continue their ascension, expect Dumesnil to be in the middle of the team’s success.
