Alton Kingsley Morse

Alton Kingsley Morse passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024. He was born on August 12, 1943, in Putnam, CT, to the late Sybil P. (Joy) Morse and Arthur G. Morse, Jr.

Alton served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Allen M. Sumner, the lead ship of the class of destroyers in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, he worked many jobs including Fordham Distributors, Cape Janitor Supply Co., and International Paper as a salesman. He retired from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School as the head custodian. Alton was also a past member of the MBBA. He always loved his many holiday celebrations with Wilbur and Sherry Eldridge and the nephews.

Alton is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patsy A. (Eldridge) Morse; his son Allen H. Morse and significant other Melinda; his daughter Pamela A. Griswold and husband David B. Griswold; grandchildren David J. Griswold and significant other Lizabeth, Brandon M. Griswold and wife Britney Griswold, Samantha J. Morse and significant other Teryn; sisters Margorie Trowbridge, Judith Hoisington and husband Terry Hoisington, Lucinda Morse and her significant other Henry.

Alton is predeceased by his brother Lawrence J. Morse; sister-in-law Frances Morse; brother-in-law John Trowbridge; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21, at the 400 East Restaurant, 1421 Orleans-Harwich Rd, Harwich, MA 02645, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
