Family Pantry Brightens Holidays For 400 Kids At Annual Toy Distribution Day
December 19, 2024
HARWICH – For 364 days each year, the Family Pantry of Cape Cod is all about providing its clients with nutritious food and decent clothing. But for one special day, it’s about fun.
That day was Sunday, when dozens of volunteers donned elf hats and conducted the organization’s annual toy distribution. Working with an efficiency seldom seen outside the North Pole, volunteers received orders from visiting families and provided gift bags stuffed with age-appropriate toys and goodies. Many kids also received brand new bikes.
The toys were collected at various toy drives, including the fire department’s Homeless for the Holidays encampment in Harwich. Other toys were purchased by Family Pantry donors using an online wish list.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
