Sharks Sidebar: Boys Hockey Clinches League

HYANNIS – The Monomoy-Mashpee boys hockey team clinched the Cape and Islands League Lighthouse Division with a 4-3 overtime win against St. John Paul II on Feb. 4.
The Sharks won the division for the second consecutive year, a season after capturing a league title for the first time in program history.
Junior Max Cronen had the overtime winner plus an assist in the league-clinching victory. Junior Owen Cloney also added a goal and an assist, while sophomore Chase Tavano and junior Nick Garneau each scored. Senior Luke Raftery, senior Tristan Eldredge, junior Logan Puma and freshman Owen Casey recorded assists. Senior Dom Silvester made 30 saves.
The Sharks are 9-7, ranked No. 13 in Division 4 and winners of three straight games as of Tuesday.
