CHATHAM – The Chatham Chamber of Commerce and Merchants Association is looking for a new executive director.
Angela Bucar, who has led the organization since January 2024, resigned as of Jan. 16 after accepting a position as marketing director for Cape Associates.
“This role allows me to work closely with the trades and the housing industry, fields that are vital to our region's growth,” Bucar wrote in an email. “This was a thoughtful decision that reflects the current expansion of our local business and housing markets. I am also eager to continue contributing to economic development and supporting future generations in our communities.”
A Brewster native, Bucar took on the position following the death of chamber director Mary Cavanaugh.
“We are grateful for her time and contributions and wish her the very best in her next chapter,” Emma Carroll, the chamber’s co-president and vice president, wrote in an email.
The chamber’s executive board is “actively working” on a transition plan “to ensure continuity and stability for the organization,” she wrote. “We are approaching this process with care and optimism and will keep you informed as plans continue to take shape.”
She did not provide a timeline for recruiting a new executive director and had not responded to a followup email as of Monday.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
