CHATHAM – If you’re interested in taking part in the town’s grandest, loudest, most creative New Year’s Eve party, you don’t have a second to waste.
First Night Chatham takes over the downtown area on Dec. 31 with an alcohol-free arts-focused festival that runs from noon to 10 p.m. The celebration includes music, food and plenty of New Year’s magic for revelers of all ages.
First Night Buttons may still be available; check at First Night Headquarters at 584 Main St. to find out. But even if they’re sold out, there are plenty of outdoor performers and activities that don’t require a button, including the Noise Parade at 6 p.m. and the fireworks display that follows at Veterans Field.
Remember to dress in layers, and take advantage of the free shuttle buses that run between downtown venues and various parking lots. Find the details and any last-minute schedule changes, at www.FirstNightChatham.com.
