Michael C. Rollins
December 03, 2025
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Michael C. Rollins, “Mike”, on November 22, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was 52.
Michael was born in Bad Kissingen, Germany, on July 28, 1973. In 1974, he was adopted and brought to the United States, where his family lived in Michigan and Virginia before eventually settling on Cape Cod, where he attended Dennis-Yarmouth Middle and High School.
From a young age, Mike excelled in the arts, pursuing every opportunity to learn, create, and grow. After participating in local art programs on the Cape, he moved to Maryland and completed his high school education at the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. He went on to further his studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), deepening his skills and passion for creative expression.
Upon returning to Cape Cod, Mike held various positions but always remained true to his calling as a working artist. His creativity was boundless, and at the time of his passing, he was deeply engaged in creating his first graphic novel — a project that embodied his creativity and dedication.
To his friends and family, Mike was a rock—always optimistic and always ready to help. He embraced challenges with his favorite mantra, “What one man can do, another can do,” and he faced every task with enthusiasm and heart. Whether asked to lend a hand, solve a problem, or tackle the heavy lifting, he did so with generosity and grace, always signing off with a humble “All set.”
Mike loved movies, video games, spinning records, and both collecting and creating comic books. He had a wonderfully silly sense of humor, a fondness for dad jokes—whether anyone else laughed or not—and a playful spirit that often led him to “leave it to the fates” to decide where the day’s adventures would go. Though our hearts are broken by his sudden absence, his influence, artistry, and spirit will remain a lasting inspiration to all who knew him.
Above all else, Mike was devoted to his children. He earned the title of “Daddy” in every sense of the word, showing up for every moment—rides, classes, games, awards, concerts— always present, always caring. His love for his kids was unwavering and immeasurable.
Mike is survived by his twins, Macen Rollins and Maia Rollins; his mother, Suzanne Rollins; his father, Buz Rollins, and his wife, Tamara Rollins; his sister, Amy Rollins, and her wife, Taylor Rollins; and his fiancée, Jamie Alexander, along with her two sons, JJ and Jackson Alexander. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Gisela Swoboda.
Mike’s generosity, humor, and kindness will live on in his children. His art, a true gift, will remain a lasting tribute to his immense talent and the time he shared with us.
Forever in our hearts, he will be truly missed.
