The team at Eat Cake 4 Breakfast in Brewster is gearing up for an epic Thanksgiving and Christmas season this year. The bakery is located on Wampum Drive right off Route 6A and offers an unbelievable array of pastries, cakes, baked goods, coffee and so much more. Tara, TJ and Tori Nelson are three siblings at the helm of this impressive operation.
“Brewster has been so amazing,” Nelson said. “Everyone here is so welcoming, from the regulars we have to the people in town hall.”
With summer lines at the shop often wrapping out the door and around the building, the Eat Cake 4 Breakfast crew is excited to extend their season into the holidays. The Nelson family is hot off a busy summer season and looking forward to seeing what the holiday season holds.
“Everything went better than expected this past summer, and it was awesome,” Tara Nelson said. “This year we decided to stay open through the end of the year, through Thanksgiving and Christmas. We want to capture the locals in addition to the visitors that come during the summer. It’s a cool thing that locals don’t have to wait in line forever like in the summer. You can walk in now and easily get whatever you want.”
Every item inside the perfectly merchandised display cases at Eat Cake 4 Breakfast is mouthwatering and made from scratch daily. On the grab and go menu, patrons enjoy offerings like seven different types of sweet and savory croissants, scones, sticky buns, danishes, gourmet cookies, Brewster Buns and cream-filled pastries called cruffins. There are several savory quiches available as well as other dessert and cake offerings. Eat Cake 4 Breakfast is also a one-stop shop in Brewster for all things caffeinated with a full coffee and specialty drink menu, as well as dessert style drinks (Brewster Bun latte or Heath Bar cookie latte — I’ll take one of each!).
The holiday rush can be crazy, but Nelson said, “We are going to be ready for Thanksgiving! We have some awesome employees that are amazing and they work so hard!”
Thanksgiving orders are huge business for Eat Cake 4 Breakfast, and they are taking pre-orders now for pies (apple crumble, pumpkin, pecan, or mixed berry), pastries, cookies, quiches and decadent desserts (carrot cake, cheesecake, pumpkin cheesecake and bread pudding). Also offered are an array of homemade breads and rolls. Pre-ordering is available until Nov. 23, with pick up Nov. 25 or Nov. 26. Be sure to call or email to place your order soon.
Eat Cake 4 Breakfast is also featuring new themed event nights during the off-season like sip and paint nights, pie-making classes, and a Santa’s workshop cookie decorating class for kids.
“The special events are really starting to take off,” Nelson said. “We did our first one last month and we’ve been trying to build it up. The most recent class had 15 people signed up, which was great. Our Santa’s workshop cookie decoration will have a hot chocolate station and will be a really fun, festive time.”
Be sure to check out the Eat Cake 4 Breakfast website to pre-order for the holidays or to sign up for one of their fun event nights. Or better yet, stop in to try one of their delicious pastries — you won’t regret it!
