Fans Got The Best Of The Weather Saturday At Outermost Roots And Blues Festival
ORLEANS – There’s little controlling the weather. But attendees of this year’s Outermost Roots and Blues Festival got the best of it Saturday.
The annual two-day festival in the upper parking lot at Nauset Beach once again invited music lovers to celebrate Columbus Day weekend with good music and better vibes. Festival co-organizer Garrett “G. Love” Dutton headlined with his long-running outfit G. Love and Special Sauce, while the Bumpin’ Uglies, Mihali, Little Stranger and Chadwick Stokes rounded out the action on the main stage.
The second stage was occupied by Anthony Michael, Solgyers, and Nikki and the Barn Boys in one of their final Cape performances before their collective move to Austin, Texas (see related story).
Rain and wind forced much of Sunday’s festivities indoors at various locales around town. Reggae icons Steel Pulse kicked things off at noon from the festival grounds, after which sets from Ron Artis II, Wild Flower Lane, Kristy Lee and G. Love with special guests including Robert Randolph were held at Hog Island Beer Co. and The Alley Bowling and BBQ.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
