Ashley Murphy

September 29, 2025

Ashley Murphy, lifetime resident of West Yarmouth was born to Wayne Murphy and Sarah Myers on May 21, 1989. She died surrounded by love on Sept 17, 2025. She is predeceased by her loving (maternal) Nana MaryAnne (DelConte) and (paternal) Papa Joe (Murphy). She is survived by her longtime companion Danny O’Rourke and her four wonderful sons Aiden, Caleb, Dylan and Carter, her parents, grandparents Barbara Murphy of Orleans and Lee Howarth of Eastham, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graduate of Nauset High (2007) she went on to work in pediatric dentistry and built her life in West Yarmouth. Though she struggled for many years with her addiction, she was an active member of her large loving family. We choose to remember Ashley as the beautiful woman she was. A child who spent her summers  catching hermit crabs in the Jettys of Chatham and spending long nights awake with her cousins laughing about boys and fighting over whose turn it was with the Super Nintendo. As a youth she enjoyed traveling to Italy with family and after many weeks she finally mastered “albicocca perfavore”, and she only freaked out once over the seafood in her pasta- or were those spiders? She spent her teenage years building beautiful friendships and did what every teenager on the Cape enjoys- summer nights in Provincetown or a beach bonfire.
Through her many seasons of life, Ashley remained a beautiful, loving woman who could not manage to return that love to herself. Her family is eternally grateful for the love and support during this tragic time. We hope you all can remember the truly wonderful person Ashley was.
In lieu of flowers, donations to her sons’ educational fund are appreciated. Please make checks payable to Barbara Murphy at 10 Lowell Dr., Orleans Mass 02653. There will be a private burial and a celebration of life will follow on November 8th at the Orleans-Eastham Elks Lodge, 10 Mckoy Rd Eastham MA 02642. All are welcome at 1:30pm, November 8th to share our favorite memories of Ashley with her loved ones.
