HARWICH – United We Dance put a lot of smiles on the faces of folks in Brooks Park on Friday evening. It was a night of rhythm and dance and free classes in a number of different movement styles.
The fifth annual United We Dance was put on by Dance Therapy 508 and Entertainment, a program that operates out of the 204 Cultural Arts Municipal Building, by founder Victoria Brown. The event provided classes in hip hop, West African dance, krump. dancehall and R&B yoga. There were live musical performances by Fred Clayton, Natasha Faith and the Drumma Queens, accompanied by West African Master Djembe Issa Coulibaly.
Whether a dancer, a music lover, or just looking for a fun and inclusive night out, the event was about bringing families and friends together, said Brown. It certainly worked, as community members of all ages enjoyed the evening.
