Mary Fallon Trainor

Mary Fallon Trainor, 70, of Dennisport, MA, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Born on July 27, 1955, in Montclair, New Jersey, daughter of the late Philip Fallon and Mary Elizabeth (Nelson) Fallon. Mary found her true home on Cape Cod—first as a cherished resident of Chatham, and later in the heart of Dennis. 
   She bore a deep loyalty to the Cape, even as her roots stretched back beyond its shores.
   From her earliest days, her life was defined by her devotion to children—her own and many others. At Chatham Junior Senior High School, Chatham Elementary, Monomoy Community Services and later Monomoy Middle School, she poured her heart into every child she met. She wasn’t just an employee; she was a guiding presence whose commitment shaped lives with patience, encouragement, and kindness.
Behind the warmth and dedication, she carried her own hardships—yet you’d never guess from her gentle strength and the grace with which she faced each day. A straight shooter through and through, she spoke plainly, loved fiercely, and gave herself fully to those around her.
Her grandchildren were her entire world. While her three children feel her loss deeply, it’s her grandchildren who will feel the void most profoundly—her guiding light, her laughter, and her hugs.
She cherished reading and the quiet solace of nature. She had an undying love for the Yankees despite her family’s disgust. She valued conversation and the comfort of trusted friends who were her Cape Cod family. These were the simple joys that anchored her, allowing her to give the same steadfast love she received from others.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gary R. Trainor (1990)
Survived by her three children, Philip Trainor and his wife Christine of Stoneham MA, Kathleen Quinlan and her husband Bill Quinlan of Melrose MA , Lauren Trainor and her partner Chris Hadge of Wakefield MA . Her beautiful grandchildren, Ava and Garrett Quinlan ,Addison, Isabel and Liam Trainor as well as her brother, William Fallon of Virginia; her sister-in-law, Debbie Trainor of Maine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. Their memories and love will carry her spirit forward.
A visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Monday August 18 at Nickerson’s Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd Chatham MA.
