Harwich Fire Trains On Donated House
HARWICH – The fire department is conducting firefighting training on a house located on Partridge Lane in East Harwich through Thursday. The department’s four shifts will take turns training each morning from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
There will not be any actual fire training, according to Fire Chief David LeBlanc, just training on attacking a building’s exterior, such as venting and the use of ladders to enter the house through windows.
The house belongs to Philip Biore, owner of Mr. Handyman of Cape Cod and the Islands in South Dennis. LeBlanc said Biore gave the department permission to use the structure for the training.
“The building will be torn down and replaced,” said Hannah Howes, the head of marketing for Boire’s company. She could not say specifically when the structure will be demolished
