The time has finally arrived for another summer of baseball across the Cape.
The Cape Cod Baseball League season gets underway in 2025 on Saturday, June 14, and all four Lower Cape teams will have opening day home games.
The Brewster Whitecaps, under manager Jamie Shevchik, are looking to return to the playoffs after missing out in 2024. They’ll host the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox at 5 p.m. at Stony Brook Field.
The Chatham Anglers, a year after reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2019, will begin the season under new manager Dennis Cook at Veterans Field against the Falmouth Commodores at 7 p.m.
The defending champion Harwich Mariners under manager Steve Englert will start their quest to repeat in a rematch of last year’s championship as they host the Bourne Braves at 5:30 p.m. at Whitehouse Field.
And under longtime manager Kelly Nicholson, the Orleans Firebirds open the year at Eldredge Park against the Cotuit Kettleers at 6:30 p.m.
The 40-game slate for the Cape League’s ten teams runs until Aug. 3. The postseason will be held from Aug. 5 to 13. The all-star game will be held Saturday, July 19 at the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox’s Red Wilson Field.
