New Handmade Cabinets Installed At The Brewster Ladies’ Library

BREWSTER – On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Brewster Ladies’ Library received three new storage cabinets, thanks to the Chatham-Harwich Newcomers Club woodworking group.
The woodworking group, known for their beautifully crafted handmade items, delivered the cabinets in person and installed them right across from the main desk.
Every fall the group agrees on a project, usually for a civic organization. Last summer, the men and women of the group helped to make three little libraries to erect on beaches in Chatham, honoring South Chatham Public Library’s 150th anniversary.
The Chatham-Harwich Newcomers Club provides a welcoming environment for Cape Codders, new and established, to connect with others, participate in activities and events, practice their skills or learn new ones.
“We're beyond thrilled with their work — the cabinets are beyond anything we expected and we're so happy with them,” said Library Director Brittany Taylor. “We immediately put them to use, filling them with library merchandise and other library-related materials. They already have provided us with a beautiful storage option for items that we were forced to keep in staff working areas!”
To see the finished work in person, visit the Brewster Ladies’ Library during normal business hours.
