Special Valentine’s Dinner
The Wequassett Resort and Golf Club reopens this month just weeks after its spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration. The celebrations will continue all year, as this is the seaside resort’s 100th anniversary.
“The year-long celebration starts this month, with Valentine's Day,” said Kara Lachance, director of sales and marketing. “It’s our ‘Opening Back Weekend!’ We’ve been closed since New Year’s Day preparing for the anniversary year. On Feb. 14 and 15, there’s a special five-course dinner in Twenty-Eight Atlantic for Valentine's Day, along with a special ‘Bubbles and Brine’ on the 15th from 1 to 3 p.m. which will feature oysters from the open ocean and the bay served with champagne.” The event will include a tutorial on the art of oyster shucking.
“The special dinner in Twenty-Eight Atlantic on Valentine’s weekend will, of course, overlook beautiful Pleasant Bay. The firepits will be lit. It will be stunning!” Lachance said. “Then on Feb. 26 we unveil our brand new rooms.” Accommodations are available for Valentine's Day weekend, too, “so you can make a weekend of it.”
It’s been very busy at the inn during the downtime, Lachance said. “We’re very excited about the new rooms. Wequassett, elegantly transformed! The rooms have been completely renovated.”
“A century of hospitality is a monumental milestone, and this renovation pays tribute to Wequassett’s storied history while preparing us for an exciting future,” Gary Thulander, area managing director at the resort, said on the inn’s website. “Our commitment to excellence drives us to continually evolve, ensuring the Wequassett remains a beloved Cape Cod destination for generations to come.”
The resort has events planned for March, too, including the reopening of the Sill, the “artisanal grab-and-go bakery spearheaded by executive pastry chef Ashley Corrao. The Sill is right near my office, and the aroma of the freshly-baked pastries are very tempting,” said Lachance. “The coffee is delicious, too.” Personally, I can’t resist their brown butter chocolate chip cookies!
Experience Cape Cod and all its natural beauty at the Wequassett during the inn’s anniversary or any time.
