Anne M. Peterson

Anne M. Peterson, 79, of Sandwich, died Friday, November 17, 2023 at her home.

Anne leaves two brothers, Thomas H. Peterson Jr. of Harwich Port and James A. Peterson of East Harwich, three sisters, Elizabeth Sinclair of Alexandria, Va., Janet M. Cummings of Harwich Port, Mary Monahan of Cape Coral, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas H. and Elizabeth (Athy) Peterson. She moved to Harwich in her teens, and has lived many years in Sandwich. Anne was an excellent student and attended Harwich High School and the University of Connecticut.

Anne spent most of her career in health care. She worked in Boston hospitals for many years. She returned to Cape Cod to carry out her mission to serve others as a home health care worker. She loved caring for people and assuring that their needs were met with respect and compassion.

Anne loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching movies and relaxing at one of her favorite places, Red River Beach in Harwich.

Anne had a great recall and could tell stories from the past that delighted everyone she knew. She held countless pleasant memories of the special times in her life. Her family will miss her smile, her joy, her Christmas spirit and her enormous heart.

Calling were held Tuesday, November 28, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Blute Chapel, 678 Main St. in Harwich Center.

The funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 29, at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main St. (Rt. 28), West Harwich. Burial with her parents will be at Island Pond Cemetery, Harwich.
