CHATHAM – It's official — Chatham Perk's two coffee shop locations are now part of the Cape Cod Coffee Company, effective this week.
The North Chatham location, at 307 Orleans Rd., and the downtown site at 447 Main St. (now closed for the season), became part of Cape Cod Coffee on Tuesday.
Chatham Perk has been a fixture in town for nearly a decade. The North Chatham location is coming up on its 10th anniversary in November; the downtown Chatham location has been Chatham Perk for nearly three years.
Cat Martin, owner and founder of Chatham Perk, is looking forward to spending more time with her family.
"I have truly enjoyed the process of creating and building Chatham Perk and I am proud of what it has become," she wrote recently. "The meaningful experiences with customers and especially with the employees have inspired me and taught me so much along the way, and we have so many wonderful memories."
Martin will be working closely with Cape Cod Coffee to ensure a smooth transition. She is delighted her employees are staying on.
"They were wonderful with the employees and asked them to continue on with them," she said. “Over the years, it’s been a privilege to collaborate with our wonderful team and to meet, work with, and even become great friends with so many in the community. I am excited for the future of Chatham Perk.” Cape Cod Coffee has plans to be open seven days a week at the North Chatham location.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chatham Perk into the Cape Cod Coffee family,” said Jan Aggerbeck, CEO of Cape Cod Coffee. “Chatham Perk has been a staple in the community, known for its friendly service and quality food. We look forward to continuing that tradition and enhancing the customer experience with our extended hours, locally roasted coffee, and community-focused approach.”
Cape Cod Coffee is committed to maintaining Chatham Perk’s role as a community hub, Aggerbeck said, continuing local partnerships, and supporting the Chatham area. The two locations will continue to serve Cape Cod Coffee’s premium coffee, now with extended hours for added convenience, according to Aggerbeck.
"We’re excited about this next chapter and are committed to preserving what makes Chatham Perk special while introducing our own unique Cape Cod Coffee touch,” added Aggerbeck. “Our goal is to create an inviting space where locals and visitors alike can enjoy great coffee and connect with one another.”
