Irene B. Bard (Baker/Crowell)

Chatham – Irene B. Bard passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024.

Irene was born January 2, 1934 (she loved to share her birthdate “1234”!) in Hyannis to the late Albert and Mary (Lavoie) Baker of Chatham. Irene resided in Chatham her whole life. She loved “her town” and was so proud to be a Chatham native. Irene was blessed to have made many lifelong friends over the decades and she would do anything for anyone. Irene worked at several places including the A&P, Northport Restaurant, Brewster Manor. She was also member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 8607. She always enjoyed Chatham’s parades, beaches, listening to jazz, jigsaw puzzles but especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert Bard, siblings Alice (William) Brunelle, Mary (Leo) Farrenkopf, Albert/Sonny (Barbara) Baker, Arthur/Bucky (Mary) Baker, and her son Paul. She is survived by her children Elizabeth (Richard) Syrjala, Clarence (Mary) Crowell, James (Jan) Crowell, Donald Crowell, Robert (Elizabeth) Crowell, Stepchildren Donald Bard, Carter (Suzi) Bard, Bobbie Bard.

She also leaves behind grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Richard, Kristine, Christopher, Cally and Mary and several great-grandchildren.

Burial will be private and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
