NORTH EASTHAM – The Nauset girls lacrosse team was desperate for a big result, and senior Sienna Reeves was more than willing to answer the call.

With the Warriors playing without one of its top scorers, Coral Punch, Reeves helped carry the brunt of the team’s scoring when she netted four goals to help propel the team to an 8-4 victory over Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday in North Eastham.

“This is about our halfway mark of the season, so I think everyone is like, ‘This is when we take our game to the next level,’” said Reeves, a Brewster resident.

The senior captain was an offensive weapon even when she wasn’t scoring, helping to spark the Warriors while continuously peppering Martha’s Vineyard with shots on goal.

As strong of a performance as she had, she was quick to praise her teammates for rising to the occasion and helping Nauset snap a two-game losing skid.

“This team has definitely grown a lot,” Reeves said. “There’s not just one or two good players, it’s really the whole team and the whole offense. We even had a defender that scored for the first time, so we are pretty lucky to have that.”
