Myrna (Hyland) Crowley of Harwich, MA and Sun City Center, FL passed away on August 30, 2022.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Francis Crowley. She was the loving mother of Michael Crowley of Yarmouth, MA, Kathleen Crowley and her partner Cecil of Hyannis, MA and Sharon Burns and her husband Thomas of Norfolk, MA. She was a proud grandmother to Anna, Noelle, Joshua, Cheyenne, Ryan, Emma, Henry and 5 great-grandchilden. She is also survived by her sister, Suzanne Chavez and her husband Ives of Beverly Hills, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Hyland.
Myrna was born on August 12, 1938 to the late Thomas and Lillian (Wood) Hyland of Agawam, MA. She graduated from Agawam High School and continued her education at Westfield State College and received her Masters in Library Science from Bridgewater State University. She retired in 2001 from Brooks Free Library in Harwich as the Reference Librarian.
Frank and Myrna were married in 1962 in Springfield, MA. They then lived in Feeding Hills before moving to Harwich in 1977. Myrna’s favorite activity on the Cape was sailing on their boat on Pleasant Bay. After retirement, they became snow birds splitting their time between Harwich and Sun City Center. They loved hosting parties, especially their annual St. Patrick’s Day corned beef dinner. Myrna was an avid Red Sox fan and would never give up hope. She loved following the activities of her children and grandchildren. She never said a bad word about anyone and was never seen without a smile on her face.
