Towns Plan 9/11 Commemorations

Local officials are inviting the public to attend Sunday’s events commemorating the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Brewster Fire Department will host their commemoration at the fire station, 1671 Main St., on Sunday at 4 p.m. The memorial service will include music from bugler Jeff Mills and the Highland Light Bagpipe Band.

The Chatham Fire-Rescue Department will hold a ceremony at the fire station on Depot Road on Sunday at 9 a.m. to remember the attack and to honor the memory of all who lost their lives that day. Local government officials will join the fire and police departments at the ceremony.

In Harwich, the commemoration will also happen Sunday at 9 a.m. The brief remembrance ceremony will be held at the fire department headquarters at 175 Sisson Rd. and will include members of the police and fire departments.

No public commemorations are planned in Orleans.
