BREWSTER – The Brewster Chamber of Commerce is holding an 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony today (Aug. 4) for the grand opening of the final 91 units at the Serenity Apartments at Brewster, a newly revitalized 55-plus independent senior community at 873 Harwich Rd.

Adjacent to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, the two-story, 132-unit complex features 400- to 500-square-foot studio or one-bedroom apartments with a full kitchen, onsite managed care and maintenance.

The floor plan includes conference areas, a library, a dining area, a four seasons room, a courtyard, a patio, and several sitting areas. The rental price for a studio apartment is approximately $1,300 a month.

A lottery for Serenity’s 26 affordable units was held earlier this summer, although residents have not yet been determined, according to Leland Powell, the property manager. The first 41 units developed in the first phase of work opened in July 2021.

Those attending Thursday’s grand opening may tour the units and community spaces. Additional open houses and tours will be available on Saturdays. The management office is open six days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
